Applying SANS 10400-XA 2021 to Winslot® The Passive Sun Control Facade System for an Energy Efficient Solution

SALT Architects Supplying the South African building industry with appropriate architectural systems is our passion, so we make sure we stay up to date with any changes to building regulations in South Africa. Our founder, Al Stratford (Pr. Arch.) as well as Heather Spilsbury (Pr. Tech.) recently attended a course by the renowned Peter Wyness on the new SANS 10400-XA:2021 Second Edition standard brought into law towards the end of 2021.

We were so pleased to learn that our Winslot® Passive Sun Control Facade System is comprehensively appropriate in handling the new requirements of this updated standard. The standard focuses heavily on sun control as well as heat transmittance into the building, thereby ensuring buildings are as energy efficient as possible. Winslot® 'slots' beautifully into this concept, actually out-performing the minimum requirements nationally with the 5-Brick application.
