StratFlex® in its simplest form is a laminated, composite material that through flat bed CNC routing and the introduction of flexible polymer material into routed channels may produce flat-pack; 2D and 3D forming; hinging and structural forms with a soft ergonomic response. The final form needs static restraint which may be given by secondary rigid frames; triangulation of shape; flexible inlays with memory; flexible inlays without memory for permanent deformation – tensile or compression structural ties or struts.

The award-winning StratFlex® Skin single, double and three seater armchair is a flat pack system which consists of a suspended StratFlex® ‘skin’ made from Birch Plywood over a locally sourced and sustainable Saligna frame.

It is made of 18 mm Birch laminate, finished in a hard wearing, water resistant smooth matt coating; and hinged with full grained natural veg tan leather acting as a scuffing / protective edge, for flat pack format.
